What an excellent book. Danielle truly captures the daily struggles of moms without being whiny and hopeless or offering annoying, condescending advice. Instead she's upbeat, admits her struggles in a humorous manner, and she's relatable. I'd recommend this book to any mom, not just stay at home moms or Catholic moms. Danielle Bean speaks to the hearts and souls of so many women. We know we're not perfect, and Danielle cheerfully acknowledges that she isn't either. That's what makes her such an appealing messenger. We all have an "I was a mean, scary-face mommy that day" story and when she recounts hers, we can laugh, tear up, nod. Conversely, when she shares the things about motherhood that are stunning and amazing, when she points us toward ideals and ways to strive toward them (with reason, balance, and charity always) we nod again, and are grateful.

There was a lot more meat to this book than I expected!
Love this book. It's my "go-to" for Catholic mom-ing. I've read it several times. Very real and encouraging advice!
There are plenty of motherhood books out there but this one is truly the best I've come across. Fun to read and easily written it covers a wide range of emotional and spiritual challenges faced in motherhood. So different from the typical books I've come across telling the weary mother that "it's ok God's love is enough" The author gets real and honest about how to thrive in your "momnipotence" finding joy and peace in the role God choose for you.
I appreciate Danielle's honesty and openeness in this book. She gives good advice on how we can truly love the vocation of motherhood. I'm giving it 3 stars because pages 101-108 of my book are not properly cut/attached and I was unable to read them completely. I considered this book a "splurge" since it was in the 13 dollar range, and I was bummed I couldn't read all of it.
This book is a lot of simple advice. Nothing mind blowing, but more a good way to refocus your mind where it should be. As mom's it can be very easy to get caught up in the day to day life and forget our bigger purpose. This simple book helps remind us why we do what we do
This book really reads like sitting down to cup of coffee with a good friend! It is a lovely look into the "magic" or mystery of being a mother--what makes mom so irreplaceable in the hearts of her children. "Mother" is not just limited to biological motherhood, but also includes adoptive mothers and feminine nurturing outside of the family. At the end of each chapter there is a short, fun quiz. I really enjoyed this book.
It makes a great Mother's Day gift or even a shower gift for a new Mom. It shows how influential and significant a mom is to those she nurtures.
